This race was a pacesetter's dream- only one early challenger, then a big rest break midway while all the horses who had problems at the start wasted energy making up the ground. Some strong closing moves, but not enough to make up for the huge early difference.

Raun Serra and Blue-Eyed Judy were side by side the whole race- in fact the announcer thought Raun Serra was Blue-Eyed Judy's shadow early in the race! THA's grooms wondered where their horse was for a few furlongs as the announcer didn't call her name!

Notes: Looked like a pairs race, this one, with Bahdarr and Fiach Dubh charging to the front as a pair, then Silver Runner and Eliot charging from behind nose and nose the whole stretch. In the end the pace-setters managed to hold off the closers.

A very very close race, with nearly a 3-way dead heat for the win. A brave run by Sultallah, won battle with Khemistry, then tried to fight off blazing closers Adib and Mereda. Look for him again, folks!

Notes: The story in this race is the phenomenally fast start by Azale, none of the others had a chance to catch her after her huge sprint to the fore. Stalkers had to be careful or waste everything chasing the blistering pace.

Notes: Inquiry did not find any significant interference between Sorin and Enazy. Raffiki, usually a closing-type horse, took over a slow pace here and then made his usual flying finish. Closers didn't have a chance stalking this colt who knows the stalking game. Beautiful ride by jockey.

Notes: Rikki Tiki Vicki set her sights on RA Angelica and Mystyk Kontiki and wouldn't give in until she'd gotten past. Too many good fillies wasted energy challenging Mystyk Kontiki's pace and had nothing left once they'd reached her.

Notes: This race looked to be another stalker's heaven, with a medium early pace and the leader not gaining too much ground. However, My Beloved was just content to canter along until another runner came up, then he began to accelerate. Every time he was challenged he got faster, until the final furlongs were raced at astonishing speed. The time marks that the top 3 horses posted would have won many of the races on the card today.

Very hard-fought finish with the whole field 1 length apart.

Notes: Ibn Desperado was vet-checked with minor cuts and bruises. Several other horses came through with minor cuts from the bumping at the start in reaction to the noise. Jockey Tamahome incurred bruised ribs and was ordered by the track doctor to sit out the last race of the day. Those horses in the outside post positions stayed clear of the mess inside and had their best races to run. A very game group of fellows, all tried to get back in the race even after the pinball game early.
