A solid win for Kyrene, taking advantage of the fast pace set by Sams Anna. A tough group of fillies, many of whom just followed Sams Anna too closely and didn't have the energy left to hold off Kyrene.

A lot of speed in this race, and speed kills! Almost everyone chased the blazing pace of RA Steadfast, and Sams Azal finished them off one by one. Liath Gerran cantered in sound after a scary stumble from the gate.

Did we mention that speed kills? It's hard to go wire-to-wire at 4800 feet above sea level. Again the early energy-saver comes through after wearing out the pace-setters and pressers.

A solid but nerve-wracking win by crowd favorite Silvona, as she ekes past a very tough group of fillies who challenged at every turn. Almost every filly in the race held the lead at one point, but of course the stewards only count that one instant at the wire.

Bravio showed his bravery by battling all the way up the stretch through horses to take this one over at the last. A hard-fought stretch drive with Bahdarr, Shamk and Penpren.

A stumble and the ensuing bumping and balancing at the break ruined this race for half the contestants, but these game fillies never stopped trying. Mara and Raena Romana ended up running from the pressure put on by Racine.

LS Bint Celebria, with two 3rd place finishes at FLT on the turf, finally breaks her maiden on the dirt track! She came up late to just catch the fine French filly Djeress, who thought she had this one won.

A fantastic finish! No one tore up any of their tote tickets until the photo came back, it was impossible to tell with the naked eye who had won! The space of about 3 inches separated the winner from the fourth place today! All these guys deserved to win!

A perfect tactical ride from jockey Patrick Evanston took the grey stallion dastardly to the winner's circle. RA Kontiki Light almost held them off.

Bold Romance prevailed here, sidestepping a possible challenge when closer Fa-Daqui had a slow start and left herself a lot of ground to make up.
