stretch but couldn't catch winner.

wire."

passed late."
6 Moitala [RUS] (BGU) 03f plcd 7(7) "Shut out of lead early,

From the steward's stand: Well-bred LS Matrusha obviously LOVED the

Good debut from SRF Farrasha.

6 Wings of Moonlight [UK] (CCT) 03f/unpl 2(9) by 1 Closing move a
little too early and couldn't match winner's stretch drive.

6 KF Shayley [EGY] (BGU) 00f plcd @ 1(9) by 8 1/2 "Stalked, strong
stretch run to open a daylight win."
9 Dekel [EGY] (CCT) 03c/plcd 2(9) by 3 1/2 "Led pack of closers,
passed early leader in turn, surprised late but kept trying."
1 Madame de Justice [IRE] (BGU) 03f plcd 3(9) by 1 "Broke to lead but
settled behind, big stretch run to get 3rd."
5 Briseur du Coeur [IRE] (BGU) 03c plcd 4(9) by 1/2 "Stalked, best
move a bit too soon."
8 Djacinthe FR (SMA) 03f/unplc 5(9) by 2 "Alone on the early lead,
overtaken by closers in turn."
3 Nazz [EGY] (CCT) 03c/plcd 6(9) by 1/2 "Making up ground late, too
much to do in stretch."
4 Andalih [GER] (CCT) 03f/plcd 7(9) by 4 Evenly near rear of pack.
2 Darkheart Forgiven [EGY] (htr) 02f/mplcd 8(9) by 2 "Missed break,
took a while to get rolling, best move too early."
7 Pracharpa [RUS] (BGU) 03f upl 9(9) "Trailed, mild late bid."
From the steward's stand: Huge run by heavy favorite KF Shayley
today--lots of recent placings made it her turn today. Big run by
longshot Dekel too--obviously loves the distance and won't be a maiden
much longer. No one wanted to be anywhere near the pace today; Djacinthe
was the only one willing to take it, and she ran well but just couldn't
hold up versus all those closers.
4. Allow 3yo+ 1600mT 60,000 AED. Purse breakdown 30,000 / 14,400 / 8400

in traffic, rank."
7 Pharamir [RUS] (htr) 01c/alw 9(10) by 6 "Trailed early, closing in
stretch but way too much ground to make up."
2 Les Yeux Bleus [FR] (CCT) 02f/mw 10(10) "Well placed early,
stopped in stretch and eased home."
From the steward's stand: Slight 2nd choice Valgru taks the win today.
Silmaril ran very well today off a long layoff and should move forward
off this race. No word from Les Yeux Bleus connections on what happened
in the stretch.
5a. Allow 3yo+ 2000mT (random split) 60,000 AED. Purse breakdown 30,000

filly, (Dent De Loup x Belle Donne, Tidjani-r). O/T: Ashley Getsay - B:
Hydra Noir, FR - J: Eustache Benicoeur.
PP Name & info Place Spread Steward's Notes
1 Benoite Loup {FR} (AGE) 02m/SW 1(7) by 3 "Pressed C throughout,
upshifted at top of stretch and opened up to wire."
3 Calymad FR (SMA) 02c/mw 2(7) by 1 1/2 "Out like a shot to open a
big early lead over rest of field with BL on his heels, passed by that
one at top of stretch but kept trying to wire."
7 Najjar [EGY] (CCT) 02c/MSW @ 3(7) by 2 1/2 "Distracted in gate,
veered out a bit at start and took a while to gather himself, big move on
outside going into final turn and was closing the gap late, ran out of
track."
6 Panda [RUS] (BGU) 01f mdn wnr 4(7) by 3 "Stalked LK, good move in
turn but couldn't match top three."
5 Little Kobella [RUS] (BGU) 03f mdn wnr 5(7) by 2 "Led second wave,
kept trying when passed by N and P but just not enough today."
4 Maggya [FR] (BGU) 99h rSW/G3MSp 6(7) by 6 1/4 "Stalked, started his
move going into final turn but didn't maintain it through the stretch."
2 Reign of Darkness [EGY] (htr) 01f/mw 7(7) "Trailed, closing but
not enough to catch talented field."
From the steward's stand: Wow, what a race! Definitely the tougher of
the two divisions. Calymad came off his long layoff very strongly today,
but just could not quite match the late kick of the consistent Benoite
Loup. Najjar had some bad luck at the start and took a while to get
rolling, but lost nothing in defeat.
6. ITR National Day Gold Cup (G1) 4yo+ 1600mT 250,000 AED. Purse
breakdown: 150,000 / 50,000 / 25,000 / 12,500 / 7500 / 5000. Winner:
Amin [EGY], 2000 bay horse, (Dhubi x Ibtehag, Atah). O/T: Beth Gustas -
B: Abdel Rahim Stud, Egypt.
PP Name & info Place Spread Steward's Notes
3 Amin [EGY] (BGU) 00c G1MSW @ 1(6) by 2 "Stalked pace toward rear,
strong stretch move to take it."
1 Nayif al Farafra[EGY] (ADA) 03c/SW 2(6) by 1 "Dueled for early lead
with O, took over when that one tired, couldn't quite match winner late
but good effort."
5 Dulcinea {FR} (AGE) 02f/MSW/TrCH 3(6) by 2 1/2 Pressed hot pace
throughout.
6 KF Shahmir [EGY] (LLY) 02c/rSW 4(6) by 9 1/4 "Stalked pace, passed
FdL and O when they tired, but couldn't get to top three."
2 Femme de Loup [IRE] (BGU) 02f rSW/MSp 5(6) by 2 3/4 "Pinched back
out of early lead, pressed hot pace on rail, no late rally."
4 Oiseau [FR] (CCT) 02c/SW 6(6) "Dueled for fast early lead with
NaF, through after 1/2."
From the steward's stand: Lots of speed in this race; you could have
thrown a blanket over the whole pack of them up until they went into the
final turn. Nice win from the always excellent Amin, and a great try
from Naiyif al Farafra, one of the longshots today. These were all
excellent horses and will certainly move forward off this race.
